Peter started off as a breakdancer and then got his professional dance training at Ballet academy in Gothenburg, Sweden 1984 to 87. He started to work as a dancer already 1986 in the dance company Dance theatre Thalia. After his education, he worked internationally as adancer/choreographer in among other country’s; Italy, Germany, Denmark and Norway. For five years, Peter was also actively working in an internationallyreputable illusionist duo Good Looking Brothers.
After many years as a dancer Peter had also begun choreographing more and more and 1998 he returned to Gothenburg to start his own dance company. It was the start of Art of Spectra and since the start 1998, Peter has created almost 40 works for the company. Art of Spectra with Peter Svenzon have had regularly support and funding since 99, by Swedish Arts Council, Cultural Department of Stockholm and Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
Peter was rewarded in 2013 with a 10year grant from Swedish art grants committee. In his work, Peter explores and constantly cross borders between different art forms such as; Dance, theatre, music, video, picture art etc. His background as a breakdancer prior to his professional dance education is very evident in his work. His chorographical stile is like a hybrid between classical, break and modern dance. Has always worked in parallel as a music composer and has created music for all works of Art of spectra and also for other theatre and dance works. Peter has throughout his career collaborated regularly with Theatre directors in creating choreography/ scenery for several theatrical performances. Peter has choreographed dance works for Institutions such as Gothenburg Opera, Ballet Chemnitz, Ballet Vorpommern, Norrdans, Helsingborg City Theatre, Folkteatern in Gothenburg and more. Peter has continually taught at Dans centrum and Ballet academy in Stockholm, giving workshops, interpretation, proffessional classes for dancers as well as given master classes and workshops for different theatres
